ART
I have a bias against the concept of an “Artist Bio”. To me, looking at art is a visual, emotional experience and is not necessarily enhanced by words or intellect. However, making art is a mysterious process and I guess some words might help shed some light.
When I was growing up, I knew I wanted to be certain things: a massage therapist, a florist, a sign language interpreter and a back up singer. I don’t remember thinking “I want to be an artist” because I just was an artist. I had the great good fortune to attend CCAC (California College of Arts and Crafts BFA 1988) where I studied printmaking and drawing.
My entire life, I’ve been making images: prints, paintings, sculptures, drawings and indulging in the mystery of the process and the purpose of art/imagination. These images are my small way of sharing myself with others, making connections and hopefully bringing more positivity by continuing to create.
